Binding Options

Durable, professional publications and reports depend on quality binding. With over thirty years of experience, ColorPage can skillfully bind every publication your business needs.  Training manuals and books, annual reports and presentations — we make sure all of your bound printed matter lasts and looks polished. Our experts can help you select the most suitable binding for your project or publication.

We can save you money on material that circulates through your business.  And we also can create a great impression with the collateral you send out.

Perfect Bind

For soft-cover books of fifty sheets or more, we offer perfect binding. Commonly used with trade paperback, this binding relies on a strong, flexible glue applied with heat.  Sections of the book are rough-cut at the spine so that they can better absorb the adhesive. This binding adds a professional finish to directories, large catalogs and journals.

Saddle Stitching

Saddle Stitching is the least expensive binding and works well for smaller materials, such as brochures, mailers, booklets and programs. Because it lies flat, it also is ideal for promotional calendars and marketing material intended for slow perusal, such as catalogs and magalogs.

Plastic-coil binding is suitable for books, catalogues and reports up to 1.25” thick. This binding is more permanent than wire or plastic comb. It also allows for a book to lay flat when opened. Plastic coil binding comes in many colors.

Plastic-comb binding is suitable for books, catalogues and reports up to 2” thick. The advantage of plastic-comb binding is that an open book can lay flat and pages can be added at a later date. The bindings come in various colors and widths and the backbone can be screen printed.

Loose-leaf binding is ideal for workbooks requiring the user to add and delete pages as updated information becomes available. Tabs can be made to differentiate section changes in loose-leaf binders and the text pages can be mylar reinforced to assure the tear strength of the pages.

This versatile, durable binding will allow the pages to lie perfectly flat on a counter or table. With this type, the cover and interior pages are punched with holes through which a double looped wire is inserted. The double loop allows for nearly perfect alignment between pages.

Case Binding

Used for books with a higher number of pages. Pages are collated in sections (usually 8 or 16). These sections are then sewn together and glued to the cover, along the spine, forming a very strong and durable bind. This method is often applied to reference books which need to withstand heavy use.
